Kaburamaru’s vibe

Hands off this medium-sized white snake has really pretty eyes. Its eyes are a reddish pink shade that suits his pale skin the best. Why do I sound like I’m crushing on a snake? Anyway, Kaburamaru is probably an Albino Japanese rat snake. They are nonvenomous and not seen everywhere.

Personality-wise this cute snake is a lot like Obanai himself. It is rather intelligent and perceptive. Kaburamaru often flicks his tongue to get a good idea about its surroundings while on Obanai’s shoulder. After Obanai died, Kaburamaru became quieter. The series showed him to be entrusted to Sanemi Shinazugawa and then later to Kanao Tsuyuri. A scene showed it smell and sniff Tanjiro Kamado‘s face, because well it’s Tanjiro Kamado’s face and one might get curious.

Kaburamaru’s journey

Obanai was going through a hard time when he found Kaburamaru. Considering the white snake was the only living creature who didn’t want him dead, Obanai picked the snake up and put it on his shoulder for it to be his friend. When Obanai escaped the situation he brought Kaburamaru along with him. They both were later saved by the Flame Hashira of that time, Shinijuro Rengoku. That’s how Kaburamaru became Obanai’s loyal companion, a creature that would stand by his side 24/7.

In the Rehabilitation Training Arc, Kaburamaro is present in almost every scene. From Tanjiro’s trial in which they sit in a tree to when Obanai pins down Tanjiro to stop him from getting in the middle of Sanemi Shinazugawa’s tries to prove Nezuko‘s a danger to humans. He’s everywhere, listening to every word and witnessing every detail.
